I did that all the time, but some of my teachers actually gave me credit. it was glorious.

I've seen these, but I would always draw on tests when I finished or didn't know the answer. One time in physics, I made an elaborate story as to why it didn't matter what the relative velocity was... I got no points.

Another time in Spanish, I wrote a story about launching people, and drew a picture with captions, and got two extra points. The teacher decided to add on to it, which made it funnier. After about two years, he came up to me and asked me to stop drawing, because he liked to draw back, and he was busy drawing back and not grading papers.
